Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival

The Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival is a classical music festival held every year in summer time all over the state of Schleswig-Holstein in Northern Germany.

The festival was founded in 1986 by German pianist Justus Frantz and is one of the largest classical music festivals in the world.

In 2006 the 21st festival was from 15 July until 3 September under the Low German motto Dat klinkt lekker (engl. That sounds yummy). The 22nd festival in 2007 focussed on Hungary, 2008 on Russia, 2009 on Germany when the motto was Heimspiel (Homegame). In 2010 the motto is Poland in Pulse featuring music from Poland.

Concerts

Concerts are in arranged in the cities Lübeck, Kiel, Flensburg and the smaller towns of the state like Eutin or Plön, as well as in the countryside in castles, manors, old barns or little Brick Gothic village churches. Most locations are also historic sites of interest, monuments and part of the state's World Heritage Sites. This includes the Musikhochschule Lübeck.
